1899 is a mystery-horror show that was created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. These two are also known for the creation of Dark that is a renowned tv show that focused on time travel. Now comes a very interesting show that tells a very interesting story about immigration. The project was announced in 2018, and the project will be available to see on Netflix only. The production of the show is something that occurred in Germany and London as well. Moreover, they also used a technology that is called “Volume” which is a virtual background that allows the screw to get access to any location that they want for their scenes through LED screens.

The story of the show revolves around a migrant steamship that is heading from London to New York. The passengers that are on board are of mixed European origins and stand together because of their hopes and dreams, all for the sake of the new century and their future abroad. But on their way, they find another migrant ship that is adrift on the open sea, and after that event, their journey takes an unexpected turn.
They now have found the reason for what happened to these people as they were making their way to their promised land. This is as far as the story of the show has been revealed, and nothing else has been revealed about it even now, but with the release of the show being near, the audience will experience this story for themselves.
