WIXOSS DIVA Live Anime Series Set To Premiere In 2021 – Release Date Revealed

Takara Tomy's Card Game "WIXOSS" Has Inspired An Anime Adaptation.


On the 26th of March 2020, in the Wixoss Presentation 2020 Livestream, it was announced that the multimedia franchise, WIXOSS, by Takara Tomy will be receiving another Anime Adaptation. Initially set to Premiere in 2020 itself, the anime series titled “Wixoss Diva(A)Live” has been postponed to January of 2021. The Staff, Cast, Storyline along Teaser all have been released for the show.

The Anime Adaptation of, Wixoss Diva(A)Live, will be handled by Studio J.C.Staff and the Director for the show is Masato Matsune. The Script for the series will be written by Tsuyoshi Tamai and the Character Designs will be taken care of by Shigure Ui. Fans will see Saya Fukuzumi (Known for voicing the role of Mary Walcott from the video game “Death end re; Quest”) will be voicing the character of Hirana Asu. Haruka Shiraishi (Known for voicing the role of Fumino Furuhashi from the Anime “Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai”) will be voicing the character of Rei Sakigake. Shizuku Hoshinoya (Known for voicing in the Anime “Maesetsu!”) will be voicing the character of Akino Onko.

The Wixoss Franchise has received several Anime Adaptations with the most recent one being the “Lostorage conflated WIXOSS”, which premiered in April of 2018. The Anime series was handled by Studio J.C.Staff and was Directed by Risako Yoshida, the Script for the show was written by Michiihiro Tsuchiya. The Anime series has a total of 12 episodes and can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

Takara Tomy released the card game WIXOSS back in April of 2014 and an anime adaptation, Selector Infected Wixoss, was also announced to premiere in the same month to promote the card game. The Anime Series continued to get renewed for a second season in the same year and also received an Anime Film Adaptation titled Selector Destructed Wixoss in 2016.

Wixoss Diva(A)Live – What’s it About?

The Story revolves around the Wixoss cards game however the entire game has been shifted to a virtual space called the Wixossland. The players can now become the LRIG Avatars in the game, and compete with other players for “Selector” fans by forming groups of 3 and the groups could be either an Idol themed or Band themed.


Hirana Asu, the leader of the idol themed group “No Limit”, along with her teammates Rei Sakigake and Akiko Onko explores this new virtual world of WIXOSS as she tries to earn more and more “Selector” fans.
