Fortuner also is known as Toyota SW4, is a mid-size SUV. The prime idea of the car is to be built on the Hilux pickup truck platform. It features two/three rows of seats and is available in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configuration. The first model of the car was launched in November 2004. After analyzing the response rate from the customer around the globe the company has been upgrading the engine power and appearance with an intention to meet that current generation standard. The company has planned to reach various regions of different parts of the countries through their strong distribution network in various continents.

It’s said that the model is a part of Toyota’s IVM project in Thailand, which also produces similar other heavy commercial cars like Innova and Hilux. The company has planned to reach a medium pick-up based SUV segment which offers Hilux Surf in Japan, 4Runner in North America, and Land Cruiser Prado in parts of Europe and Australia. The new model of the Fortuner comes with the BS6-compliant Toyota Fortuner SUV to meet the environmental standards imposed by the international committee.

As leaked earlier the facelift model comes with the two different models namely 2.8-liter diesel and 2.7-litre petrol engine, albeit with a BS6 upgrade. The diesel engine has the capacity to develop 177PS of power while the petrol motor puts out 165PS of power. Many of the eyecatching and notable features of the car are remained unchanged to maintain the originality of the previous version of the model. Few of the unchanged features of the car are powered front seats, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered tailgate, leather upholstery, seven airbags, and cruise control. The diesel model of the car is offered with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options whereas the petrol model of the car develops 165PS of power and 245Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual and automatic options.

It’s estimated that the Toyota Fortuner Facelift will cost around 45 Lakhs Indian Rupees. The vehicle is made available in seven different colors to meet the demands of the customers. The available colors are White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, super white, Phantom Brown, Grey Metallic, Avant-Garde Bronze, Attitude Black.
