We have great news regarding season two of The Witcher on Netflix. Netflix’s fantasy-based series instantly became famous after its release in 2020. The pandemic has caused a slow production but wait, wait. The team has finally confirmed the season two release date. Toss a coin to your witcher o valley of plenty, o valley of plenty. Finally, the wait is over. Personally, I am a huge fan of The Witcher franchise, the games, and of course, the books.
Past success forced Netflix to renew the series, which means the fans are loving it. More of Anya Chalotra, sigh. The immense popularity has already got the fans rolling. I am pretty sure season two will be outstanding. What do you guys think?
The show revolves around three main characters in three different timelines. Geralt of Rivia is a magically enhanced monster-hunter as a “witcher.” Ciri is basically Geralt’s destiny because he took the oath of the Law Of Surprise. Yennefer of Vengerberg is a half-elf and a powerful sorceress who can control and bend chaos. In the first season, we saw the three in three different timelines with a hanger where they will soon cross their paths. To a lot of fans, The Witcher is a dream come true. The series is based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. Time for some recap. The show starts off the first season with a scene where he is killing monsters for a coin. The Witcher slaughtered kikimora. We saw Geralt meeting Renfri, the ill-fated princess on the run. Personally, I expected some chemistry between Renfri and Geralt.
Stregobor ordered Geralt to kill Renfri, which he reluctantly refuses. The refusal ended up pretty gory with the famous “the market slaughter.” Alternatively, Yennefer, the hunch back, was introduced. She is bullied and overlooked by everyone. She was sold to Tissaia for only four marks(currency). Too much goes on! Tissaia takes her to Aretuza to study magic. Geralt, while on his way to slay more monsters, meets a humble bard, Jaskier. Trust me, he is funny. Episode four, “Banquets, Bastards, and Burials,” stated how Ciri is destined to Geralt by the Law Of Surprise.
We saw a lot of turbulence in the first season. Geralt can become an overpowered monster by drinking the night potion.
Yennefer becomes a powerful sorceress and joins hands to defeat Stregobor. Ciri is running away from her enemies inside a jungle along with his little elf friend. Soon, Geralt and Ciri will cross paths and meet their destiny. We saw Yennefer completely disappearing after she sabotaged the Stregobor army. I’m pretty sure Yennefer will be back in season two of this amazing series. The Witcher received a lot of positive criticism, while some people called it another version of the Game of Thrones.
When Can We Expect Season 2 of The Witcher?
Now it’s time for the release date. The Witcher season two release date, according to Platige Image, is August 2021. The tweeter post by Netflix official, “I’m dusting off my lute and quill, I have some news, some mead to spill, after all the months we’ve been apart, it’s time for production to restart. The Witcher and his bard will reunite on 17th August”, confirmed the release date. I’m extremely excited. I just want to see more of Yennefer.
The Polish-American fantasy drama is surely breaking some records. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich created the show. The cast looks outstanding and fits with Henry Cavil, Freya Alla, Eamon Farren, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, MyAnna Buring, Royce Pierresom, Mimi Ndiweni, Anna Shaffer, and Mahesh Jadu. For now, we know season two will be back in 2021. You can watch the show’s trailer on Youtube. The production is going on. How many of you just can’t wait to watch it? Keep yourself updated; We expect to hear more in the upcoming days, so stay tuned for more updates on The Witcher Season 2.
