Major 2nd Season 2 Update – New Season Received Green Light From Studio

The Anime Series Went On Hiatus In June Of 2020.

The Anime Adaptation of the Manga series “Major 2nd”, the sequel to the popular baseball manga, “Major” by Takuya Mitsuda, was renewed for the Second Season back in April of 2020. The Anime Adaptation will be broadcasted on NHK Educational.

Major 2nd Season 2 was set to premiere on the 4th of April 2020 but could only air 4 episodes before announcing the anime series will be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Although it returned to air more episodes on the 30th of May 2020, the series went in a hiatus again on the 14th of June 2020 for the same reasons as the first time.

Major 2nd Season 2

The Anime Adaptation of Major 2nd series has been handled by Studio OLM and is being directed by Ayumu Watanabe. The Script for the series is being written by Michihiro Tsuchiya and the Character Designs for is being taken care of by Miki Matsumoto instead of Kenichi Ohnuki who handled it in season 1.

Written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda, Major 2nd is Japanese Manga Series that is the sequel to the successful Baseball Themed Manga Series “Major”.

It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday back in March of 2015 and since then has released a total of 19 volumes.

Shigeno Daigo And The Mifune Dolphins.

The Story follows Shigeno Daigo, the son of Goro (Who is the Protagonist of “Major”) and his journey to live up to the expectations as the son of a former Major League Player. Shigeno decides that he wants to play for the Youth League Team, Mifune Dolphins, but can’t stand out or seem to have any talent.

After trying for a little less than a year Shigeno quits baseball completely but things begin to change when a transfer student from America returns to Japan in his class. As it turns out the transfer student is the son of Satō Toshiya who too was a former Major League Player and a good friend of Goro.

Now both these 6th graders begin to work towards becoming successful Baseball Players.
