Although the Anime was initially set to air this year itself due to the new coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), it was forced to be delayed. About The Light Novel | Kumo Desuga Nani Ka?

Written by Okina Baba and Illustrated by Tsukasa Kiryu, So I’m A Spider, So What? is a Japanese Light Novel Series that debuted back in 2015. The first drafts of the story were published on the “Shōsetsuka Ni Naro” and was then picked up by Fujimi Shobo. Ever since its release back in 2015, a total of 13 volumes have been released for the Light Novel, and it’s still going strong.

About The Manga | Kumo Desuga Nani Ka?

After the Light Novel Series had started seeing a rise in popularity, Asahiro Kakashi adapted the Light Novel into a Manga series. The Manga debuted on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up in December of 2015. The Manga is still ongoing and has released a total of 8 volumes.

Plot Overview | Kumo Desuga Nani Ka?

The story follows the life of a High School girl who, along with her classmates, was killed because of the powerful magic released due to the clash between the Hero and The Demon King in another world. All the students who died due to the explosion were reincarnated into another world, and our protagonist was reincarnated as a Spider. 

It is explained that since our protagonist was at the bottom of the social hierarchy in her class, that’s why she was reincarnated as a Spider.

Even though she has become a mere spider, she’s doing her best to survive and make the best of it.

About The Anime Adaptation | Kumo Desuga Nani Ka?

The Anime Adaptation of Okina Baba’s Light Novel Series, So I’m A Spider, So What?, was confirmed back in July of 2018. The Anime was one of the highly anticipated Anime Series in this fall’s lineup. Unfortunately, it had to be postponed all the way to January of 2021.

The Anime has been confirmed to air en cours. For those of you who don’t know what that means, it basically means that the Anime will be airing in two parts. It also has been announced that overseas fans can access the Anime on Crunchyroll.

Although the Anime Release is so close, most of the cast members involved in the Anime Adaptation haven’t been announced. Aside from the Protagonist’s voice actor, we don’t know much about the other cast members.

The Cast Announced For The Anime Series So Far Include Aoi Yuki. She will be voicing the Protagonist of the Story, who is referred to as “I/Watashi.” She is also known for voicing the character of Mami Nanami from the Anime “Rent-A-Girlfriend.”
