Bidden Chooses Kamala Harris As Running Mate

Joe Biden announced that California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate on Tuesday. This announcement is seen as a significant move by making history by nominating the first Black woman for the role to contest as a vice president. This announcement received an overwhelming response from Black voters. It’s also the first time black lady candidate to compete on a major party’s presidential ticket. President Trump has also expressed his opinion over the announcement that went viral in social media. US presidential election is said to take place on 3, November 2020.

Joe Bidden has announced through social media platform Twitter reaching millions of peoples in various regions of different parts of the countries. His tweet has received many like and comments about choosing his running mate to contest the election. Bidden tweeted that “I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,”. He has used Text message service and delivered “Together, with you, we’re going to beat Trump.” to his supporters.

Harris, a 55-year-old first-term senator. She is one of the party’s most prominent figures and soon became a top contender for the No. 2 spot due to her hard work and knowledge that she obtained from her experience over time. Bidden has chosen Harris to contest the election at a moment of unprecedented national crisis. Bidden has already made his views about the 150,000 people who have lost their life due to the deadly virus. This count is much more than in other countries in Europe and Asia. Lockdown along with shutdown has made many businesses idle for more than six months. This has caused a huge loss of around 1 billion dollars thereby causing an economic collapse. Along with the economic crisis, there are many protests that took place against racism and police brutality.

Trump’s disability to control the virus has given Bidden a strong opening stand where he enters the fall campaign with a strong position against the president. By selecting Harris as a running mate, bidden can express views more centric against the health care and her background in law enforcement.  Harris has experience as a California attorney general and district attorney in San Francisco. She has received many credits for his impressive work. During the previous Democratic party leadership, Harris has controlled some liberals who were causing threats to the public. Teenage Black voters who saw her as someone who can turn off issues of systemic racism in the legal system using his official power and stop police brutality.

Bidden has long experience serving as a vice president. Biden spent eight years as President Barack Obama’s vice president guiding him in taking the major economic decisions to safeguard the country from recession. In March, Bidden has announced to select a woman as his vice president. It took nearly five months to find a solution for his expensive search. The most expected female candidates are Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Florida Rep. Val Demings, California Rep. Karen Bass, Susan Rice, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Among all these candidates Harris was chosen as the Lady candidate to face the upcoming section along with Joe bidden.

Most expected candidate Susan Rice expressed a “tenacious and trailblazing leader” over choosing Harris. She has also announced to support Bidden and Harris  “with all my energy and commitment.”. Vass expressed his views on Twitter “@KamalaHarris is a great choice for Vice President. Her tenacious pursuit of justice and relentless advocacy for the people is what is needed right now.” In a long history of the American presidential election, the last candidate has never served the country as a vice president. Previous to these two last candidates have contested in the election where their party has lost the election. The two women contestant who has contested the election are Democrat Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 and Republican Sarah Palin in 2008.
