The memo, from CEO Doug Parker and President Robert Isom, explained that the airline hopes to prevent some of individuals furloughs, which include things like all over 10,000 flight attendants and 2,500 pilots.
“We hope to minimize the actual range of furloughs significantly as a result of increased depart and early-out systems for represented workgroups, which we are announcing these days,” the memo reported.
On Wednesday, the two American Airlines executives also stated the carrier supports a union-led effort and hard work to foyer Congress to increase the CARES Act relief income — which is set to expire at the conclusion of September — as a result of March 2021.
