Adachi To Shimamura Release Date Revealed – Anime Set To Air This Fall

Hitoma Iruma's Light Novel Inspired Yuri Anime, Adachi To Shimamura, Will Be Airing This October.

On Tuesday, the Official Website of the Anime, Adachi To Shimamura, has released a new Key Visual for the anime along with another promotional video making this its third one. The Anime adaptation is based on a Light novel series by Hitoma Iruma and was announced back in the month of May 2019. The Anime series is set to release on the 8th of October 2020 in Japan and will be streamed on Funimation as well for fans overseas. Adachi To Shimamura, the anime adaptation will be handled by Tezuka Productions. The Director for the Anime will be Satoshi Kuwabara, The Script will be written by Keiichirō Ōchi and the Character Designs will be handled by Shizue Kaneko.

The Light novel series has two Manga Adaptations. First Manga Adaptation was done by Mani which was serialized online in Square Enix’s Gangan Online website from April of 2016 to December of 2017. The manga had released a total of 3 volumes. The Second Manga Adaptation was done by Moke Yuzuhara and was serialized in ASCII Media Works Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh back in May of 2019. The status of the manga is ongoing and a total of 1 volume has been released.

Written by Hitoma Iruma and illustrated by Non, Adachi To Shimamura, is Japanese Light Novel Series that was serialized in the Dengeki Bunko Magazine back in October of 2012. The Light Novel Series began publication in 2013 and has released a total of 8 volumes with more to come.

The story follows the lives of two girls, Sakura Adachi and Hougetsu Shimamura, who both usually skip classes and spend their time playing ping pong with each other in the Rec room of the school. Neither of them knows much about each other and don’t share anything about their likes, dislikes, dreams or anything. As they start spending more and more time with each other Adachi begins to develop feelings for Shimamura and their everyday lives take a slow romantic turn.

The Light Novel is of the Yuri Genre and has a very slice of life feeling to it.

Iori Saeki (Played the role of Kimie “Tanpopo” Kamata from Oresuki) who will be voicing the character of Yashiro Chikama
