The Witcher is a Polish-American fantasy drama series based on the book of the same name by the Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowski. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is the producer of the show, and it streams originally on Netflix. The show came out at the end of 2019 with eight episodes, and, somehow managed to create a whole fandom because of the interesting storyline of the show.
The show is bound to come back for another season but the date is not confirmed yet. Although Netflix has been releasing content despite the effect of the pandemic, it has to stop somewhere. Sadly, The Witcher season 2 is the victim here, we might experience a delay in season 2. But don’t be sad, we have good news as well. The shoot for the new season will resume from 17th August which means we will be getting more updates about the new season now.

According to the previous news, the filming of The Witcher season 2 had to be done in eight months. And, previously, the cast and crew have shot for four weeks already. So, if we calculate, seven months from 17th August means the show will get complete somewhere in March.
After the completion, there is post-production and various other tasks before the new season can finally premiere. So, after all the math, we can expect the show in mid-2021. A long way to go, but definitely, it will be worth the wait.

The storyline for the next season can bring another plot into the show. Recently, a new update about the show has been teased via video. According to the video, season 2 can have a new mystery killer. Sounds exciting!
Well, according to some sources, the video consists of actor Edward Rowe, who can be seen in the next season in the role of ‘D’. The character is said to be a hardened killer. Although the video did not tell much about the storyline for season 2, we still got an insight into Rowe’s character. His character, D is seen talking with another man, telling him the trick to killing. Nasty.
People believe that D is a codename for Reince, the arch-rival of Geralt (Henry Cavil). D can also be a spymaster, Dijkstra from the Iranian region. This is just a fan-theory as Rowe’s personality matches with the spymaster. But, all of this just can be some theories on the net and we may see a whole new character portraying the mystery killer.
